Qualifications
qualityculture are a leading edge Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and Chartered Management Institute centre. We provide a full range of qualifications to suit everyone from team leader to senior manager.
The ILM and CMI recognise that many organisations and their employees would like to support people development with a qualification but traditional management qualifications do not suit everyone’s requirements. So they offer short courses which contain the main themes. We are accredited to deliver the full range of leadership and management programmes from level 2 to seven.

An example of programmes we run:
Award in Team Leading Level 2
This short programme typically will last 3- 4 days. It is aimed at new team leaders or people in self managed teams. Topics covered include the role of the leader, leadership styles, motivating self and others, team working, time management and effective communication.
Assessment is by a reflective review and presentation
Award in First Line Management Level 3
This programme is aimed at first line managers and supervisors. Topics can include situational leadership, action centred leadership –task, team and individuals. Emotional intelligence, effective communication, personal effectiveness, problem solving in teams, team dynamics, Belbin roles, change management, quality and Fish. Assessment is presentation and a written work based project.
Award in Management Level 5
This is a very popular programme in all sectors. It is aimed at middle managers, though often because of its shorter duration many senior managers and directors participate.
Topics can include, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, transformational and situational leadership, NLP, introduction to six sigma, leading change, coaching for leaders and introduction to NLP. Assessment is by a case study and a work based improvement project which often has a significant financial payback. Credits can be given towards the ILM Diploma. This programme is also run as an open programme.
Diploma in Management Level 5
This programme is a great launch for aspiring middle managers who want a more rounded understanding of management. It is pitched at HND/degree level. Our flexible delivery and distance learning options suit today’s climate. It usually takes 15 months to complete. Assessment is by several written assignments and a management report. It will qualify candidates for membership status of the ILM.
Award in Strategic Leadership Level 7
This programme is ideal for busy senior management who have not got the time to study for an MBA but want to invest in some cutting edge material to inspire them and enable them to achieve better results. The topics build on those in the middle management level 5 diploma but are pitched at a higher level, with some extra workshops; culture change, strategic thinking, values, ethics beliefs and implementing strategic plans.Assessment is a management report.
Award and Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management (CMI)
These programmes offer an alternative to the ILM route. Our focus is on developming senior leaders. Step one is to understand organisational needs and then to build a programme to suit. And then if a qualification is required we look at the most suitable. The certificate usually involves a business improvement project with significant ROI for the organisation.
Certificate in Coaching Level 5
This is great for leaders who recognise the value of the people they manage. Or for someone in an HR support role. Delegates will learn to inspire others to action using the Pygmalion principle.
Workshops include self mastery, and peak performance, coaching principles and practice, communication, rapport, body language, the grow model, balanced wheel and goal setting. Assessment is by an assignment and coaching diary.
Award in Leadership Level 3
This is a very popular programme aimed at first line managers and supervisors. It covers the latest thinking on leadership, emotional intelligence, positive psychology, communication and team work. It is usually lasts for four to five days and assessment is a reflection on the delegate’s own leadership performance and areas for improvement, by a written report.
Award in Leadership Level 5
This is very similar to the level 3 award but pitched at a higher level for middle managers. It offers an alternative to the Award in Management in that delegates present a reflection on their own leadership rather than conducting a business improvement project. We would be happy to discuss which option would suit your needs.
Certificate in Leadership Level 3 and 5
The certificate in leadership can follow the award. Delegates develop a learning plan and participate in action learning sets. At each learning set each person is given 30 to 45 minutes to raise an issue from their learning plan or a work issue. The other delegates in the set help clarify the issue and offer solutions. Each participant has a turn and they go away with an action plan. These are revisited at the next session, usually a month later when new issues can be addressed. Duration is usually six months with several action learning sets. Assessment is via the development plan and a reflective learning log
